Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information — your name, email address, username, and profile photo when you create an account.
• Business information — if you claim or add a listing, the details you provide about your business (name, address, phone, website, hours, photos, description).
• Feedback and content — private feedback scores and notes, public shoutouts, critic reviews, posts, comments, and photos you submit.
• Messages — messages you send to businesses or other users.

We do not store your password or full card number. Login is handled by Base44, our hosting and account provider. Payment card numbers are handled by Wix Payments (Base44 Payments). We never see or store your full card details.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, and how you use the Service.
• Location data — your device's location, when you allow it, to show nearby restaurants, hidden gems, and deals.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and provide the Service.
• To show you nearby listings, hidden gems, and deals based on your location.
• To deliver private feedback to business owners and enable follow-up chats.
• To process payments for subscriptions, boosts, and credits.
• To send you push notifications (when you enable them) and emails about your account.
• To show you targeted, personalized ads. You can opt out of targeted ads in Settings (see "Your Privacy Choices" below).
• To improve the Service, prevent fraud, and comply with the law.

Service Providers We Use

We share information with the following service providers so the Service can work:

• Base44 — hosting, user accounts, login, and email delivery.
• Wix Payments (Base44 Payments) — processes subscription, boost, and credit payments. Wix handles your card details; we do not store full card numbers.
• OneSignal — sends push notifications to your device. You can turn push notifications off in your device settings or in the app.
• AI providers (through Base44) — used for listing discovery and auto-tagging. Your private feedback is never used for advertising.
• OpenFreeMap, U.S. Census Geocoder, and Photon — provide map tiles and address geocoding so we can show locations and directions.

Targeted Advertising

We may show you targeted or personalized ads based on your activity and approximate location. You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time in Settings. See "Your Privacy Choices" below.

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information today. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and notify you before any sale, and we will give you an opt-out. You have the right to tell us not to sell or share your personal information at any time.

Your Privacy Choices / Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You can opt out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of your personal information at any time. To opt out:

• Open Settings in the app and turn off the "Targeted ads" toggle, or
• Use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of our website.

When you opt out, we stop using your personal information for targeted advertising and stop sharing it for that purpose. Your choice is stored on your profile and respected going forward.

Private Feedback Visibility

When you submit private feedback ("The Critical Spoon"), the business owner sees your category scores and written notes. The owner sees your first name and last initial — or nothing at all if you choose to stay anonymous. Your full name and contact details are never shared with the owner. On eligible packages, the owner can open a follow-up chat with you. If you stayed anonymous, the owner does not see your identity in the chat.

Location Information

We use your device's location, when you allow it, to show nearby restaurants, hidden gems, and deals. We may store your last known location (synced periodically) to provide optional proximity alerts when you are near a saved spot. You can control location permissions in your device settings, and you can opt out of proximity notifications in the app's notification settings. You can disable location storage at any time.

Push Notifications

We use OneSignal to send push notifications to your device. You can turn push notifications off in your device settings (iOS or Android) or in the app's notification settings at any time.

U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or a similar state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have certain rights, including:

• The right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it.
• The right to access and obtain a copy of your personal information.
• The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• The right to request deletion of your personal information.
• The right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling.
• The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Business payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. If you delete your account, your data enters a 30-day recovery window. After 30 days, deletion is permanent.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleted accounts enter a 30-day recovery window during which you can restore them by logging in. After 30 days, deletion is permanent — we remove your profile, posts, reviews, private feedback, comments, likes, saved favorites, follower connections, credits, and notifications. Business payment records are kept as tax law requires.

Minors

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting. We will notify users of significant changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
